My Adventures in Scotland...

Well, to be more accurate: My Adventures in Edinburgh and St. Andrews.

Last weekend I went up to Edinburgh to visit one of my cape friends. He has decided to do all four years at the University of Edinburgh, and I was more than happy to stay free there J

Edinburgh for the most part is a "chill" city, very much like Boston, lots of college kids and the streets are dead after midnight. But is still a city, whereas St. Andrews was, quaint, to say the least. It had a very "osterville" feel, but that could be because it is on the water, rich, and has many golf courses.

Probably the most interesting part of the trip was seeing the Venga Boys in concert. Though I really wouldn't call it a concert, they pretty much sucked actually... couldn't sing, couldn't dance. But the audience at the club could do both, and didn't care that they band could do either.

The entire trip was, how shall I say this, ummm, filled with good times, some of which I cannot remember ;) Which is ok, because the drinking age over here is 18, and I am definitely older that 18, and I didn't do anything horrendously stupid... The stupidest thing I did was walk up to the top of Arthur's Seat (while sober, mind you) in my Nine West ballet flats, DKNY jeans, a blazer, and a long wool jacket... hiking and fashion are a bad idea. But I am pleased to say that my shoes held up fine and I am planning on writing a letter to Nine West to tell them how wonderful their shoes are!

Say it aint so, Tom, Say it aint so!

I am crying right now... I never really thought that the Pats would lose. I knew it was a possibility, because "anything is a possibility," but to Eli Manning??? He is not even the good Manning brother!?!?! He is not good under pressure, he is fugly as all hell, and he has no timing!

I admit that I am spoiled, Red Sox winning twice in my lifetime, the Celtics with the best record in the NBA, hell even the Bruins are decent this year! But to see the Pats go all the way, 19-0, that would have been amazing! Something to tell my grandkids about!

I cannot understand how we lost that game, we had them, under 5 min. left in the fourth, Pats up by 4, we had 5 pairs of hands holding Manning, and he got away! How did we let him go?

So we are 18-1... we went the entire regular season undefeated... but does it really mean anything? NO, it doesn't, except that we could not pull through in the end.

Since I am a superstitious person, I blame Bill Belichick. All season long, he has worn his old, grimmy, gray, sleeves cut off sweatshirt. And today, he switched to a red one. Why then, in God's name, would he do that? His team won 18 games with him in the gray one, he couldn't wear it for one more game?

Blahhhhhhh.... So it is 3:45 am in London and I should be going to bed. I have class in the morning.

First couple weeks...

12 Manson Place... My home for the next 4 months :) 12 of us live here and share a small, but working kitchen. There are 8 girls and 4 guys, most from other colleges, not just BU.

Classes are fine, though I wish I didn't have to take them. I cannot wait to be at my internship. Last week I interviewed and found out that I got my internship at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery.

I have been completely getting into the "art mode!" I have already been to to art fairs, most of the major museums, Sotherby's + Christies', and at least 15 galleries.

I have stayed in London this entire time, but I am planning a bunch of trips both inside and outside the UK.

I have trips booked:
*Feb 14 - 17: Edinburgh, Scotland
* Feb 26 - 29: Tangier, Morocco
*March 1: Madrid, Spain
*March 28-30: Barcelona, Spain

and I am trying to plan trips to:
*Italy
*Belgium
*Wales
*a Jane Austin Tour of stately houses :)
(yes, I know I am a dork)
